Mitigating Bias in Higher eLearning

The Executive Vice President for Administration's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is pleased to launch the Mitigating Bias in Hiring eLearning! This eLearning course is designed to be a fundamental educational program providing curriculum that supports prioritization of equity and diversity in hiring. Learn best practices and procedures for reducing potential bias, increasing understanding and awareness. The course consists of seven modules and a program learning assessment that is estimated to take 60-90 minutes to complete.

To further intercultural competence, that is the capability to shift cultural perspective and appropriately adapt behavior to cultural differences and commonalities, different voices and accents (as we all have one) have been included to support exposure and appreciation of differences. Some accents you may be familiar with or some you may hear for the first time in your life - either way, the experience will indeed contribute to expanding your consciousness and understanding. Some include French, British, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, Armenian, Peruvian, Nepali, and American.

Upon completing each module and the learning assessment, you will have access to a certificate of completion that you may view and/or download. The D2L system, in which this program is offered, will prompt you to retake the course at least once a year based upon your completion date.

The launch of this eLearning was a community effort, and a sincere thank you to everyone who participated in the course development, including:
