BIOGRAPHY

Lauren Scott (pronouns she/her/hers) is the senior communications manager for the Offices of the Executive Vice President for Administration (OEVPA) and Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer (OSVP/CFO). She is responsible for developing, supporting and implementing strategic communications programs for both offices – respectively – aligned with the university’s vision, mission and strategic priorities, as well as with overarching messaging and branding foci. In her role, she coordinates efforts between in-unit communications professionals reporting to both offices, produce comprehensive plans, as well as execute and assist with internal and external communications to further amplify our offices’ respective commitments, vision, and strategic initiatives. Her work focuses on building trust, engagement and visibility across our internal teams, in addition to the MSU community 

Most recently, Lauren worked at Allstate where she supported nationally focused proactive media outreach initiatives on their External Affairs team where she was a part of the execution of strategic external Public Relations campaigns like Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report and components of Allstate’s sports marketing sponsorships. Additionally, she supported the company’s National Disaster Prep and Recovery efforts, before and after catastrophes. Prior to her departure, she provided strategic communications support and content creation for service product owners, in addition to developing communication strategies and materials to support new programs and processes to advance department priorities.   

Lauren’s background blends advertising, marketing, and public relations experience in the higher education, automotive, and insurance sectors. Throughout her career, she worked for Agency 720 as the advertising account manager for Chevrolet dealer groups, where she oversaw the planning and execution of national, regional and local market paid media across multi-channel platforms. Lauren also worked at Tanner Friedman as an account assistant where she was responsible for client earned media outreach and monitoring, as well as event planning. She also leads the public relations and marketing efforts for the Midwest Invitational Rodeo, which her family owns.  

Lauren graduated from DePaul University with a master’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising. She is also a proud MSU alumna with a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication with a minor in public relations and advertising.  She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
