MSU CARES, Volunteer Pilot Program
What is the Community Engagement Volunteer Pilot Program?
The Community Engagement Volunteer Pilot Program, named MSU CARES, is a centralized repository, via a volunteer portal, of more than 100 approved community partners, and more than 16 causes and interests, to offer individual and team volunteer opportunities for employees. Our goals are to:
- Increase social responsibility, community engagement and service-learning activities
- Increase employee engagement and collaboration, and foster an inclusive work environment
- Increase exposure to differences and commonalities to build cultural competence

MSU CARES Participation
All participants are to ensure compliance with university, unit, and departmental policies and obtain leader approval prior to registering for a volunteer opportunity.

Once registered, remember to obtain a volunteer shirt from your unit HR department. Once you've completed a volunteer opportunity, please remember to log your volunteer hours in the volunteer portal and share your experience and feedback with us via the participant feedback survey.
